/ farmers - and whisky - threatened by maltings closure

robert kilgour maltings in kirkcaldy - owned by muntons plc, one of the largest malting operations in the uk - is to close, with the loss of a doorstep market of about 45,000 tonnes of malting barley a year for farmers in fife, tayside and angus.
